On 27 October 2018 Dame Penelope Keith as the ABF’s President was invited to take part in a special service arranged by the Henry Irving Society. The service was held in Westminster Abbey where Sir Henry Irving’s ashes are buried. Dame Penelope read John Clare’s “On a Lane in Spring” in recognition of Irving’s great love for the English countryside. She also laid a wreath on behalf of the Actors’ Benevolent Fund.
