AGM: Monday 12th December, 10.30am—Central Hall Westminster

All ABF members are warmly invited to attend the AGM at Central Hall Westminster in The Aldersgate Room. Central Hall is in Storey's Gate, London, SW1H 9NH at 10.30 AM. At the AGM you will be able to vote to elect trustees and on the motions concerning the business of the charity. This is also an opportunity to meet old friends and also to meet the trustees and our new members of staff.

Initial notice of the AGM and elections for trustees was mailed out first class on November 7th the formal business papers were mailed first class on November 18th. If you can’t attend the AGM, you will see that you can vote using proxy ballot papers which were mailed first class to you by 2nd December (delayed by postal strikes). That last mailing has details of how to post or email your proxy ballot back to FREEPOST POPULARIS or help@popularis.org where it needs to be received by midday on Friday 9th December. If your diary changes such that you are able to attend the AGM in person you can vote at the meeting, and your proxy will be automatically cancelled.

Postal Strike—How to make sure you get your vote

We recognise that the Royal Mail strike days are having an impact on speed of deliveries. We want to make it possible for every member to participate in the AGM voting whether they can come to the meeting or want to vote by proxy. If you are worried that you have not had ballot papers or may not have time to post them back:

  1. Remember that if you have proxy ballot papers you can scan or photo them and send them to help@popularis.org. Please remember to make sure that your ballot paper number for the trustee elections is visible so Popularis can validate your vote. (Popularis is a specialist company in the management of ballots and elections recommended by and required by the Charity Commission to oversee the ABF election.)
  1. If you are concerned about the post and do not have information about the candidates standing to be trustees, you can go to the Members’ Section of the ABF website and download the information about all 26 candidates who are standing for election for the 12 trustee positions. If you need the proxy ballot papers, we can also send you the proxy forms by email for you to vote on trustee election and business motions and then return to Popularis by email or post. You can contact the ABF office to obtain proxy vote forms emailing office@abf.org.uk or by calling during office hours 020 7836 6378. Please head your email Voting ABF 2022. We can also let you have the Member section log in if you don’t have it to hand.

Hoping to see you at the AGM,

David Harvey MRes MA (Oxon) FCA FCCA MCIPR FRSA
Interim General Secretary
